  1. One very minor nitpick but it addresses a very common misconception: GPS satellites are not in geosynchronous satellite ring. They’re about 26,600 km from the center of the Earth compared to the geosynchronous orbit of 42,000 km and while geosynchronous satellites orbit over the equator, GPS satellites are inclined about 55° to the equator. Since 2012 DA14 passed 34,000 km from the center of the Earth the GPS satellites were never in any danger of getting hit and since it passed from almost directly south of us to almost directly north of us the geosynchronous satellites were never in any danger either.

  2. I have eaten alligator, or crocodile I can’t remember which it was, but I can’t imagine a big difference in flavor, and I highly recommend it, Finn.
I have also had donkey, thinking it was pork due to my my own mis translation of a conversation, and it was lovely. So I was had a donkey meat scandal before the horse meat scandal was cool 😉
